I use the official Suunto cable with the FTDI driver. I have also tested a CustomIdea cable with their driver and a Mosquito.

Below is a list of manufacturers and the required drivers.

Original Suunto Cables
Suunto make cables for all of their devices. You need the FTDI drivers from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.

smartinterfacelogo
SmartInterface make cables for most Suunto models, check their website. USB Drivers are also provided on the site.

CustomIdea
CustomIdea make cables for the Vyper, Vytec, Vytec DS, Cobra, Mosquito and D3. You can get a driver from their website here: http://www.customidea.com/devicedrivers.php

Reefnet
Reefnet provide a Mac driver on their website.

Mares
Try the CP210x driver from here:

https://www.silabs.com/products/interface/usbtouart/Pages/default.aspx

Oceanic/Aeris
Oceanic devices use the FTDI drivers mentioned above - make sure to download the latest version.

You can also override the default serial port in the advanced preferences, which should allow you to get your device working if the serial device has been created with a name that isn't recognised by default. There is now an option to scan for possible serial ports and choose one.

For other cables you will have to find the appropriate USB driver. Usually a google will help.
